markdown# Blockchain Status Monitor

Monitor real-time network status for major blockchain networks including Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, and Solana. Get instant access to critical metrics like block height, block times, gas fees, and network health.

Quick Start

  1. Select a blockchain network from the dropdown menu (Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, or Solana)
  2. Click "Monitor Network" to fetch real-time status data
  3. View results including latest block, gas fees, and network status
  4. Export data in JSON or CSV format (Pro feature)

Features

Real-Time Monitoring

Check live blockchain network status with up-to-the-second accuracy. Data is fetched directly from blockchain explorers when you request it.

Multiple Networks Supported

- Ethereum: The leading smart contract platform - BNB Smart Chain: Fast and low-cost transactions - Polygon: Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum - Solana: High-performance blockchain

Comprehensive Metrics

- Latest Block Height: Current block number on the chain - Block Time: Average time to mine/validate a new block - Gas Fees: Current transaction costs (Gwei for EVM chains, SOL for Solana) - Network Status: Operational, Slow, or Down - Chain ID: Network identifier for wallet connections

History Tracking (Pro)

Pro users get access to historical monitoring data, allowing you to track network performance over time.

Export Capabilities (Pro)

Download your monitoring results in JSON or CSV format for further analysis or record-keeping.

How to Use

Basic Monitoring

  1. Open the Blockchain Status Monitor tool
  2. Select your desired blockchain from the dropdown
  3. Click the "Monitor Network" button
  4. Results will appear below showing all current metrics
  5. Check the usage counter to see your remaining daily checks

Understanding Results

Latest Block: The most recent block added to the blockchain. Higher numbers indicate an active, healthy network. Average Block Time: How long it takes for blocks to be added. Ethereum typically shows ~12 seconds, BSC ~3 seconds, Polygon ~2 seconds, and Solana ~400ms. Gas Fees: Transaction costs displayed in the native unit (Gwei for EVM chains, SOL for Solana). Higher gas means more expensive transactions. Network Status: - Operational (Green): Network is functioning normally - Slow (Yellow): Network experiencing delays - Down (Red): Network issues detected

Exporting Data

For Pro users:

  1. After viewing results, click "Export JSON" or "Export CSV"
  2. File downloads automatically to your device
  3. Use exported data in spreadsheets or analytics tools

FAQ

Q: How often can I check blockchain status?

A: Free users get 20 checks per day. Pro users have unlimited access. Your usage counter resets daily at midnight UTC.

Q: Are the gas fees live?

A: Yes, gas fees are fetched in real-time from blockchain explorer APIs when you run a status check.

Q: What does "Chain ID" mean?

A: Chain ID is a unique identifier for each blockchain network, used when connecting wallets. For example, Ethereum mainnet is chain ID "1".

Q: Why would a blockchain show as "Down"?

A: This status indicates our tool cannot fetch current data from the network's explorer API. It may be a temporary API issue rather than the blockchain itself being down.

Q: Can I monitor testnets?

A: Currently, this tool only supports mainnet networks (production blockchains). Testnet monitoring may be added in future updates.

Q: How accurate is the block time?

A: Block times shown are network averages. Actual times for individual blocks can vary based on network conditions.

Examples

Example 1: Checking Ethereum Status

Input: Select "Ethereum" from dropdown Output: Blockchain: Ethereum Network Status: Operational Latest Block: 18,456,789 Average Block Time: 12s Gas Fee (Average): 35 Gwei Gas Fee (Fast): 45 Gwei Chain ID: 1

Example 2: Monitoring Solana

Input: Select "Solana" from dropdown Output: Blockchain: Solana Network Status: Operational Latest Block: 245,123,567 Average Block Time: 400ms Gas Fee (Average): 0.000005 SOL Gas Fee (Fast): 0.00001 SOL Chain ID: mainnet-beta

Troubleshooting

"Failed to fetch blockchain data" Error

Cause: The blockchain explorer API may be temporarily unavailable or rate-limiting requests. Solution: Wait a minute and try again. If the problem persists, the explorer service may be experiencing downtime.

Results show very high gas fees

Cause: Network congestion drives up transaction costs during periods of high activity. Solution: This is normal blockchain behavior. Wait for network activity to decrease, or check if gas fees are lower on alternative chains.

Daily limit reached

Cause: You've used all your free daily checks. Solution: Upgrade to a Pro plan for unlimited checks, or wait until tomorrow when your limit resets.

Network shows as "Down" but I know it's working

Cause: API connectivity issue between our tool and the blockchain explorer. Solution: The blockchain itself is likely fine. Try again in a few moments or check multiple networks to verify the tool is working.
